Converting my tow truck to a dually. It is a 2500 SRW short bed. So far just gathering parts. I have the wheels, front spacers, and bed with fenders.

Need dually axle. Just found one with 27,000 miles out of a 2007 mega cab with 4:11s. Hope to make contact with owner today.

Do you have 4.11 in the front, or do you have to regear?

Take lot's of pics! There are always a bunch of guys on TDG asking what is involved in something like this.

The silver truck has 4.11s now. Bought two axles last night the front and rear. Dave Eldridge is putting the front AAM axle under his duramax.

Nice! I would love to straight axle my dually, but not sure what the cost is associated with it.

Looks good. Are you going to put cab lights on it?

Did Dodge make a regular 4 door with a short bed dually on it?

That looks great, I want to do this with my chevy but i would have to use the old style GM wheel flares and my same box. But anyway.. nice job.

No you dont. Here are the fenders. You can also get your adaptors here or change your rear axle.

Thanks for the link, I priced a kit with alloys ,frt and rear adaptors and flares was about 2100 didn't think that was bad at all.

What size tires are you running ?

FYI if you are planning on running larger than stock tires you should use a dually axle instead of the adaptors. The adaptors wont allow a spacer for larger tires. My tires are a little to cloce together. They do touch when I pull a trailer. I was able to put a 1/4" spacer between the duals but should be about 1/2"+ . My tires are 33/12.50/17 with 2" in the front and 1.5" rear.
