I am looking to install a "kill switch" for my truck when sled pulling. Some of the local pulls around here are making it manitory to have so if the truck for any reason becomes unhooked from sled the truck shuts off. I have a couple of idea's on how to do this but was wondering if anyone has done it already and could share there experience with me? thanks

An easy way, battery disconnect switch, wire to the back, pull the wire shuts off the switch. You can wire the switch into any wire that when disconnected will shut the truck down.

It should, why not? A bad cam sensor shuts the truck off.

Only way to really kill a motor, is to shut off the air to it. Theres no electronical way to kill a motor when it runs away. You have to block off the air to the turbo. OR be ready with a fire extinguisher. When they run away they are acually running on the oil thats in the motor. Not the fuel, keys in your hand. It revs and revs and revs. Just ask Bobby at Cope Customs. Happend to him first hand. Turbo exploded, oil was pumped threw the turbo into the motor. Ran by itself till it finally run itself to low on oil to run anymore. Very, very lucky it didnt hurt anything sept for some oil in the exhaust pipes, and turbo was toast.

Had that happen on a 65 Kenworth with a detriot! sounded almost as crazy as Nikos truck on the dyno:eek: That had an air shutoff flapper that was built in the intake, so just pull the cable and she shut down.
