solostyle 07-13-2008, 08:29 PM lol..this thread might get good.....i read his signature..where was he at? how did "the sled puller" finish? i dont remember him. and......i think i did pull a sled and did pretty good without the rear-end blocked. I know the only 2 pullers that full pulled in my class said if my rear was blocked i would have pulled it out the gate. Maybe they dont know what they are talking about? and..technically....his signature should be total opposite. Every truck lastnight pulled a sled....EVERYONE of them....but....only a select few are "fast!! :D

hey...im not bashing you. i didnt even see you pull. i was probably out in the parking lot. i aint got the money either. I work hard for what i have and i really hate it when it breaks. :D but...they are telling me to read your sig. But I can say the same thing back. Anyone can pull a sled but can you go fast? Kyle who won his class pulled the sled....but he knows (and im not bashing) he cant beat me in a race. TNRGreene's truck beat me and probably will everytime pulling but....i have the edge on the strip :boink: But...i definately wasnt bashing you at all or any of the other trucks.

Dave who ever told u that load of BS was correct. If u could sit in the stands and see how much not having your rear block hurts u would see. I send u a pm dave

Yes him and his truck did well and yes he did beat me by 8ft I believe it was. I made a couple of beginner mistakes being that this was only my second pull and I was a little disapointed in myself. I felt my truck could have done better. But my friends, this is only the beginning and I hope to have lots more fun in the near future. Again, Congrats Kyle, and in the words of good ole Arnold "I'll Be Back" <(with the austrian accent of course).

Glad to hear you are coming back. Don't be disappointed, If you feel you made a mistake ...learn from it. Like anything there is a learning curve, once you get it figured out the track changes :frusty:

Never set goals u dont have money for i learned that already. I myself am no money maker i work hard for my 7 dollars and hour but i try to play with the big dogs while i should be staying on the porch. You truck does ok for what it is. But i will tell u it takes more then money to win a event. Look at TNR GREEN truck for example. Stock turbo stock bottom end. And he is running with the best of the 2.6 charger trucks. Not Just in florida because common we no florida trucks arnt nothing but from all over.
Dont go over your head and try to get into a race that u cant win. Ive been there and done that. I have been in 1 grudge match with my 2wd and won. It wasnt because i had money because god knows the other had way more then me with a sponsor. It was from listening to the old wise guy from washigton that help me on my setup and it paid off

Don't you read this board? DMax's are junk but thats all I can afford for now. :)

o heck i know it wont. i seen the power hes pushing. im a grandpa truck compared to him and the ones last night. believe me, i know my place in the power rating :pound:
2wd_sled_puller 07-14-2008, 12:34 AM Ok just making sure Moyer. Good luck on the Goals.
Morse 07-14-2008, 10:40 AM I actually enjoyed this pull.. I'm a diesel addict that doesn't care about brand. I just enjoy putting together combinations that make power. I wish the best for everyone, but it takes more than shirts to stand out at an event. I support the GDP effort to get the name out there. It's great. You have to start somewhere, and advertisement is a key part that seems to be going very well. You are also promoting the sport, which I'm sure the diesel community appreciates as well. As customers come, hopefully they can be guided to more hp. Some people have the misconception that it's easy to go fast, and hard to pull a sled. I say it's easy to do both if you do the basics, but the drag strip is definitely a harder place to stand out. You have to make gobs of hp there, then worry about keeping it straight if you're making enough power.. Look at Kurt. He did a blocked rear end, weight transfer, loops, rear tires, and basicly a programmer and did well with a 2wd..
Again, I'm not bashing anyone.. In fact, I've decided I'd like to join in the pulling scene. My plan is to find a truck and spend no more than $700 in engine mods and run the stock class. If anyone knows where I can find a 94-98 12 valve that's in good shape, or a high mileage dmax please let me know.. I just want to see how I can do on a very limited budget in the street class.. My wife told me yesterday she wants a cheaper truck to pull her horse trailer because she's scared to drive the kodiak. It will be my puller, she just doesn't know it yet.. haha..
MoPower05 07-14-2008, 10:59 AM Thats great Brad looks like Davids is also thinking about doing a few pulls too. With the truck Bobby just bought I think we will be seeing more Cope Custom trucks pulling.

Brad i have right at 1000 dollars in mine. I basically did mine on a budget. Thats including the tranny. Now i have right at 1500 in mine with the converter im going to buy so it can be done.
Me and my truck are extremely slow... so basicly I have nothing constructive to add at this time!
Thanks

CoalTrain12 07-14-2008, 07:55 PM Some times thats the best place, catchin' what everyone who couldnt make it missed. Me? i wasn't able to make it to the wachula event after I did my part to help the oil companies get rich on that "Crap" they call highway diesel. I'm sure it was a blast. Just moved back into town so when payday rolls around I'll be glad to get out there and roll on the coal with ya'll.
