Others may chime in but my opinion is if the pull is in Ft Myers there is no doubt the open gas trucks will win. Anybody can see that. Maybe a neutral site like Inverness would be better? I said before there are too many varibles to work it out & go heads up. If the gas trucks want to compare let's match up cubic inch per cubic inch. I have 403 ci, I'll let a comparible ci gas truck even spray. or tire to tire
I still find it interesting that the only diesel truck in the area with a built motor is gone & now the challenge is offered Your now trying to compare factory assembled trucks against high modified purpose built race trucks. Sounds to me like the diesel are just trying to be " put in there place"

Well there was an event between James & Steve so I think it started before. & more then one person has said to us "you don't belong here" You condoned the diesel bashing on your board. I'll give you that you did remove it & Thanks for that.
If your are accusing me & maybe you are not. This may have stemmed from a post on your board but that was not me.
I only asked where we stood in Punta Gorde that night & wanted to pull the same sled that Kerri had pulled to see if we were close or not. That was Steve's last pull & that's the only time I said anything. I have no doubt what would happen between a purpose built truck & my street drivable truck. Excluding the few big trucks, everybody else wonders where they'd fit in. Even Kurt has asked more then once & just posted the same thing yesterday. I have a couple of choices, this is a hobby & when a hobby becomes no fun it may be time for a new hobby. I don't like that option. I'm just tired of the hassles, I do not call & bother you. I have never called you & have only spoke to you on the phone when you returned a call from Randi. I did find out where the question we had about classes came up & it was not Vicki, I was mention by the guy that was weighing in the trucks. I don't even know who that was. I'm ready to let all this dye & move on. But 1 more question: "Edged Dodge" posted here last night about building his truck & rules. Any idea when we will see them?

:confused: I guess this may be in reference to newer vehicles having electronics? The computer is just nice to see what it's doing. I didn't build it, I wish it had a carburator & a distributor sometimes. I started out with that stuff in my early drag race days but by the time I was done it was MSD's, fuel injection & big turbos.
Trust me it's just as hard today to go 6.90's with all the new stuff as it was then

With Keith obviously pulling for the gassers. Pulling HIS sled set up the way he wants it... it would obvously be an advantage. That would be like having an all Chinese voting panel in the Olympics being held in China. No one knows for sure exactly how fair things would be and there would always be speculation.

So to keep things "fair" or "even" something like this should be held at a Neutral spot that is not pulling for one side or the other! Do you really disagree with that??? I have nothing to prove, and I sure dont think Keith is a dishonest man... I dont even know him! Its just something called common sense, some have it... some dont! I try to use it when I can.

And as far as the 2nd part of your post... its OK to ask a question. If we ask them to have a grudge pull-off of sorts and they say no, its OK... really it is! All they can say is Sure no problem, or NO! Whats the big deal? Who has been telling people how to run things? All I have seen were questions asked and suggestions made. Seems like you have a chip on your shoulder. I thought we were all in this for the same reason. I know I am only in it for the fun and comaradare (sp?). Sounds like you arent having FUN so what now???

This gas versus diesel thing sounds like a good time. As long as it's taken for what it is (entertainment). The problem is there aren't really any true dedicated pulling trucks in the area that are diesel. I may be wrong, but I don't know of any. Most diesels that pull are daily drivers, or close to it. Pitting daily drivers versus trucks that can't even drive to the grocery store legally is a little mismatched. With that being said, I like competition. I have an old 12 valve that's never pulled at all.. She probably won't do much, but I'd put up $100 just to support the event.

Thats the sport morse. I beilve it would be awesome to see a purpused build sled pulling diesel and a gasser compete. Even freighttrain wasnt a dedcated sled puller. I dont mean to say this to cause bickering in any way. But the freighttrain still ran to the grochery store. Steve had loads of more things he could have done to the train to even better the train. But he was doing well with what he had so why switch.

This has already been done a couple months ago. The Ohio Cat Ford pulled against all the Top gasers in the country. One diesel vs all the best Gassers! I believe it is a 2008 Ford Body on a custom chassis and drivetrain with a 12v CUMMINS engine, sponsored by Caterpillar. GO figure!

Well we dont have any gas or diesel trucks that are as "Hot" as the ones in that video, but you get the picture!

I got wind today we may be traveling down this bumpy road all over again yet differently. And as I said above there can be no winners.
