i AM NOT SAYIN THAT IT IS NOT A GOOD TRUCK, BUT THE HITCH THAT IS ON IT IS ILLIGAL HAS TO BE A REESE STYLE ONLY. HE WON LAKE COUNTY BUT THERE WAS ONLY TWO OR THREE TRUCKS THAT COULD COMPETE BECAUSE NTPA WONT LET THEM HAVE A GOOD CLASS SO IT WAS PRETTY MUCH ALL LOCAL TRUCKS THAT JUST WANTED BRAGING RIGHTS TO THERE FRIENDS. AND THE RESULTS THAT I CAN FIND HE HASENT FINSHED BETTER THEN 11TH IN ALL OF FULL PULL'S EVENTS SO UNLESS HES GOING TO PULLS SOME WHERE ELSE LIKE THAT VIDEO FROM HOOKS TOWN WAS AN 11TH PLACE FINNISH. HE THINKS HIS TRUCK IS ALL BIG AND BAD DO GOOD IN A PRO STREET EVENT UP HERE AND THEN HE MIGHT GET SOME RESPECT OH YEAH CHANGE THAT HITCH TO DONT LEAVE THE REESE ON FOR TECH AND THEN CHANGE IT TO YOUR ILLEGAL ONE AFTER THEY TECH YOU THATS PRETTY GAY.

I don't hear anyone else complaining about the hitch. I post on other boards with trucks he beat? NOBODY has said anything other then congrats. The hitch is bad ass though BUT the guy hooking can call "foul" on hitches or height. That's where the complaining should be. I have personally seen videos from at least 10 different hooks since the ownership change. Is it a Pro Street truck or a 2.8 truck? I am not familiar with classes up there
It's interesting to hear, keep us posted
Thanks

I think the yelling was an accident being that the first "i" is lower case in his post.
Calm? It's nothing to get upset about on this end. I don't think he knows the backround which is the guys up North saying all of our stuff is junk & believing it. & Tim who now owns the train only has about 10 hooks? in any truck. I know there is a learning curve in driving these. Time will tell
This is a pulling board & as long as it doesn't get "R" rated or personal, I'm always interested & welcome others opinions.

And i/we go whith what the rules state and i am not looking to start or continue with this north south thing i was just lookin for some pulls over the winter down south and came accross this post and had to say something.

Just is hard to read sometimes :) I don't want the North vs South either. No challenge, cockyness or anything mean or nasty. Come down & pull this winter, January in Inverness is a GREAT pull. http://www.thepullingplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=551 Good track, Good People & sled is usually a Swann sled. The big discussion at Canfeild was over Calvin Miller's hitch not Tim's. Calvin showed up at that hook with a pulling hitch from Burton Chassis. This is not receiver hitch. It is a bar style pulling hitch. Pro Street allows pulling hitches

Hitch:

The hitch must be stationary in all directions. The hitch's height from the ground may not exceed 26 inches. The length of the hitch measured from the center of the rear axle to the hitch point may be no shorter than 27% of the actual wheelbase of the truck. The area where the hook point is at must be free and clear of any obstructions. A truck may compete with a Reese style hitch or may pull from the bumper as long as it meets the 27% rule. The hooking point must have a minimum 3.5 inch inside diameter opening. No lever, pivot, axis or other types of ‘trick’ hitches are prohibited. No vertical hitches, all hitches must be 33 degrees or less parallel to the ground. A second hitch is not required in this class.

It says it can be a receiver hitch not has to be! :baby:

BTW Calvin's hitch was deemed 100% legal for use in FPP Pro Street.

I am not sure who you are but your stretching things more than a little. Why dont you come out and say who you are? I am John Jordan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQbwj42sOMU

Lastly I would not say the Train is kicking ass. It is doing well. It is competitive but far from dominate. Right now there is not really a dominate truck up here. Pull to pull you never know who will win.

Hitch—“REESE” style only, reinforcements permitted. No type of trick hitch will be allowed on the vehicle. The hitch must be horizontal to the ground and stationary in all directions. The hitch’s height from the ground may not exceed 26 inches. The hooking point must have a minimum 3.00 inch inside diameter opening for the sled hook. The hooking point will be measured to the center of the clevis hoop.

this is nwpa rules and i dont know if the truck has been to any of there pulls but there the hitch he has is illegal. and the conversation at canfield was about calvins hitch and everybodys in general sorry if i made it seam like i was just pickin on tim. and i was wrong tim did place better then 11th i didnt look at redbank when i posted earlyer.

NOT A REESE HITCH

JOHNBOY
10-02-2008, 03:07 AM
That hitch is not on that truck anymore. He was a NWPA Jamestown, PA. With a receiver hitch. He bought the truck with that hitch, it is no longer there. Come to Goshen and see for yourself.

That hitch would be FPP Prostreet legal.

Tim took 5th at Zanesville OH in the NADM 2.8" class on a great track against some of the best 2.8" trucks in the country.

TNRGreene
10-02-2008, 08:45 AM
Yes that hitch was legal here but I also know it the bed when the truck was sold was a Re-enforced Tow Beast. It's hard to tell but on some of the videos I can tell they are not using the pulling hitch because of hook location & how the sled reacted.

No need to aplogize. You guys have a lot of hard and time in that truck. It shows. It is very well prepared. But so are many up here that are well prepared. Calvin Miller, Mat Cooper, Bennetts, Matt Winegart, John Lorenz, Scott Blair, and Justin Wilkins to name a few. We really dont have a 2.8 class up here. We have NWPA Hot stock (3" charger) and Full Pull Pro street (unlimited single, limited twin). I have heard rumors that NWPA Hot Stock will go 2.6" like Full Pull Street Diesel next year. I think it should. I hope Pro Street goes 3" but I bet it stays unlimited single with stock drive line.

I am not sure how much help for Tim I really am. I can move weight.:pound: Pulling an auto is way different then pulling a manual.

The stink over hitchs at Canfeild was about Calvins hitch. The central Ohio crew was not impressed with his Burton Chassis hitch. It was deemed legal as it should have been much to the dismay of the central Ohio crew
