I won't be going. I will however be taking a 10 day or so trip to KY. this summer.

TS is a big event, but you may want to check the rules. They run alot of the same rules Scheid does (atleast they did in the past). Some guys won't go because of them. Just FYI!

Yes Scheid rules. They don't seem much different than ours.

I will only say that there were two sets of KY guys here East & West & both groups at different times mentioned the trucks here & how they could not pull up there.
Mine is missing a driveshaft shield by my tranfer case (where the rag is) I have it it just wasn't on.
Wayne is missing driveshaft loops also.
Mike the mention your hitch but I know you have a reciever style also. They both said your truck is to "short" I have never read their rules but can I assume that they don't allow flatbeds?

I will have my driveshaft loops, and the remaining 3 ujoint shields completed by Desoto.

Remember that the new hooking point must have a minimum 3.750-inch inside diameter opening to accept the new hook. I have my new hitch plate cut and being shipped to me to finish.

I knew you were doing them & I think I showed you mine laying on the trailer.
Do they want front AND rear loops up there? Where are the rules?

I am not sure, and I am sure they are all different. I am settting my truck up according to NADM rules, the only difference is NADM doesn't require my truck run loops, or anything other than rear ujoint shield for the work stock class.

I think the Chambers group had mentioned NADM rules but the others had their own, what are the Scheid rules?

Scheid Rules -

Work Stock 2.6 (http://www.scheiddiesel.com/uploads/files2/Work%20Stock%20pull%20rules%2008.pdf)

Street Stock 2.8 (http://www.scheiddiesel.com/uploads/files2/Street%20Diesel%20pull%20rules%2008.pdf)

There are more, but this is really the only 2 classes any of us would be running.

Thanks Wayne, I just read the NADM rules. Glad they made them seperate from the drag rules. Going to page 19 sucked...LOL. My truck fits, it hasn't changed from when we were at Merchant.

The only thing we have to do is build the new hitch plate, since 3" only works at small pulls. Once you leave Florida, or Keith's pulls, 3" won't work. The hook will fit in, but it get's stuck.

If you could fit 2 trucks on your Trailer I would go. Cant be breaking anything that far from home and not have a ride back. LOL

These are the rules. I know of one flat bed that pulls at this event and he said he is going back. Truck too short what does that mean?

The only thing I could think of would be the distance of your hitch from the centerline of your rear axle. I don't know why any truck would be considered too short as longer wheelbase trucks have the advantage. For the last two years I have helped line up trucks and check hitch height at the TS Event. This is the first year that Schied has been involved so I doubt I will be working but that is cool cause I'd rather watch or pull.

Didn't you shorten your frame, or just a bed crop?

I had a nine foot flat bed(work truck) when I made it shorter(the bed) I cut off two pieces off the frame that hold the stock hitch on. They were bent from when the stock hitch bent. But this isnt part of the frame it was a rearward bracket. I could have left it and wouldn't make a difference. This still wouldn't be what they are talking about because it didnt shorten the truck the entire lenth of the frame is still there. What if I would have bought a short bed? Is the distance from the axle to the back on a short bed and a long bed the same? What about ford dodge chevy and year to year body style all the same? All this could be solved if the rules specify hooking point to center of rear axle. I said when we made the rules this is how it should be done. So if the rules say furthest point back then I am within the rules.

I think I read where it said OEM body. Is it a Dodge flatbed? I still don't know.

This is what I am tring to find out. I do know there was some place up north that didnt allow flat beds but from what I have been told flat beds are OK. If the hitch rule is 48" from center of rear axle then I dont think the bed makes a difference.

youll be fine with the flat bed. people pull all the time with em around here only problem ever seen was a truck with no bed at all, wouldnt let him pull because of exposed drive line which makes since.

From what I can tell from the rules, it says the hook point can be no closer than 48" to the center of the rear axle. It also has to be the most rearward thing on the truck, meaning if you were to back into a wall, the hooking point hits first, aside from sled stops.
