Default Weight mount for front end

Im looking to build a weight mount for the front of my '87 silverado but I do not want to cut the bumper or weld to the frame so I was thinking I could put some plating between the bumper and the bumper "bump guards" then weld some tubing and steel between them so it looks good and i can just remove the weights and leave the mount on the. Comment if you have advise or a better way to do it? Please and thanks.

What are the specs are on the mount? You ever consider a hitch weight distributor? It might take a little bit of the pressure off the bumper, although from what your projections were, I think you should be good to go.
