Unhappy Broke

My truck was running fine when I shut it off. When I tried to crank it back up it just turned over. Changed the fuel filter which had some trash in it and still nothing. Gas ragged it and it would just run off that and die. I pulled the banjo fitting going into the injection pump and there was what looked to be some dirt. I also pulled the fuel shutoff bracket off thinking that it might be the problem. After doing that it fired right up and ran fine. Test drove it for about 15 minutes and thought everything was fine. When I tried to start it about an hour later the same thing. I'm getting fuel to the inj pump but nothing out of it. Any suggestions?

do you have good pressure going into the injection pump? Assuming you have a lift pump feeding the injection pump?

loosen a couple of the lines going from the injection pump to the injectors and crank it over to see if fuel is getting to the injectors.

Check your fuel shutoff solenoid. Make sure it is pulling all the way up when you are trying to start the engine. Bet that will fix it, and if you need a good price on a new one or the relay PM me. I have a place that treats us diesel guys good. Let me know how it turns out, Gary
