Here is a link to www.wideopenpulling.com site. Wide Open has some of the best and most widely used rules in KY for diesel trucks. They sanction a 2.5 and a 2.8 class.

This is the first full year as an organization. Hopefully things pan out for them as they could really have a good thing if they run it right.

Where are you located??? In KY, there aren't any 2.6 classes. I know that some other parts of the country do use a 2.6 class. Some use a 2.5 class and then others use one of those AND allow dual CP3s. So yeah, for the same basic level of trucks, there are some variations in rule sets throughout the country.

I've talked with some of the pullers here in KY and it might not be a bad idea to go 2.5 or 2.6 with dual CP3s in place of the current 2.5 class w/ single CP3 because it's a huge jump in power up to the 2.8 class. However, if this happened a lower class would need to be added that was kept as a stock-turbo class because these trucks would be making some fairly substantial horsepower.

It appears as if WOP is going through some termoil as they are canceling most of, if not all of, their remaining pulls. Tough times.
