This still wouldn't be what they are talking about because it didnt shorten the truck the entire lenth of the frame is still there. What if I would have bought a short bed? Is the distance from the axle to the back on a short bed and a long bed the same? What about ford dodge chevy and year to year body style all the same? All this could be solved if the rules specify hooking point to center of rear axle. I said when we made the rules this is how it should be done. So if the rules say furthest point back then I am within the rules.
I think I read where it said OEM body. Is it a Dodge flatbed? I still don't know.

This is what I am tring to find out. I do know there was some place up north that didnt allow flat beds but from what I have been told flat beds are OK. If the hitch rule is 48" from center of rear axle then I dont think the bed makes a difference.

youll be fine with the flat bed. people pull all the time with em around here only problem ever seen was a truck with no bed at all, wouldnt let him pull because of exposed drive line which makes since.

From what I can tell from the rules, it says the hook point can be no closer than 48" to the center of the rear axle. It also has to be the most rearward thing on the truck, meaning if you were to back into a wall, the hooking point hits first, aside from sled stops.
